INTRODUCTION

  1.1 Purpose of Project Management Plan

    1.1.1 Purpose of Project

In the
context of reducing the mishaps Oil tankers and long Vehicles, a robust
automated system is to be developed.  It
would be implemented using embedded system and IOT technology.  In our proposed system, it will cater to
various problems (like Oil leakage, tire burst, Speed control, distance
control) using various sensors which will be use accordingly for predicting or
reporting the faults. Like for distance control, infrared sensor will be used.
For speed detection, we will use speed sensors. The proposed system would be
wireless based communication system by using GSM module to inform the
corresponding authorities in case of imminent disaster. The process will
involve detecting fault or high probability of accidents and raise alarm for
driver, followed by the information sent through GSM to relevant authorities
i.e. Rescue (1122), Police, Edhi center etc. if accident actually happens.

    1.1.2 Project Management Plan

Our
project is sponsored by Center of Advance research in Engineering ([email protected]) and
Research and development department (R&D). Our major stakeholders are
Pakistan State oil (PSO) and all other fuel transporters. In senior leadership
we have Mr. Iftekhar Mahmood and Mr.
Yaqoob Khan as Project manager and supervisor respectively. Our team
consists of four members i.e. Sardar Abdul Wahab, Sohaib sarwar, Abrar Baloch
and M. Aqeel. We have divided our project in four major tasks, assigning each
task to a member. Sardar Abdul Wahab is responsible for sensors checking and
hardware connectivity. Sohaib Sarwar will work on GSM module interfacing.  Abrar Baloch and M-Aqeel will be working
together on software based interfacing of sensors.

In our project we will improve accuracy of
cost, duration and resource estimates so that we can   decrease the cost as much as we can to make
cheap and efficient product

As for the
environment of the deployment of our device we have dumpy and harsh environment
so far so we need shock proof and weather proof sensors and controlling unit. Our
sensors will be present inside as well as outside of the oil tanker fuel tank
so we need very compact circuitry so we use can bus for that purpose.

Change Control Management

There
can be any change possible while project is in progress such as if any sensor
is not available in the market which is in our plan of project than possible
measures would be taken. Those are, change of the sensor or increase in the
time interval till availability of sensor is assured again.
